Rebecca Uliczka

  • She was born in Berlin in 1985 and emigrated to San Luis Potosí in 1994 following the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989. She returned to her hometown to study economics, continuing his professional career in Barcelona and Madrid, where she found her vocation in author photography. She forged his studies at the Escola de Disseny I Fotografia (IDEP) in Barcelona and later combined them with a Master's Degree in Management and Criticism of Contemporary Art, at the University of Barcelona. As her last academic degree, she is studying the PhotoESPAÑA Master's Degree, which culminates with an exhibition that has been shown at the PHotoESPAÑA 2021 international photography festival. The axis on which her projects are based are the experiences, lived during his childhood and adolescence. Impacts that were experienced due to a change in cultures and surroundings that were alien and seemed extreme. These have led her to capture photographic images in the form of series that tell stories, staged in a performative way, using a feminine image that represents that ephemeral, mystical being, in search of identity and truth, in a context of spaces in transition that serves as a stage for the confrontation between the human being and the proposed themes. In 2017 she published her first artist book, and continues to create self-published books of her photographic work. She has also been presented on several occasions at festivals and fairs of contemporary art, photography and photo books. She currently resides in Mexico, a country where she is developing her photographic work and showing her work.
