Tino Soriano

 

  • Tino Soriano has been acknowledged by the World Health Organization and the Academy of Medical Sciences of Cataluña and Baleares for his work in dissemination of healthcare through his photographic documentaries. He has worked in dozens of hospitals and has collaborated with different medical institutions to document a world that is very difficult to access with a camera, beyond the commonplace images of publicity. He is currently working on a project on traditional medicine in the world, to be published by National Geographic.

    As a writer his literary essay “Ayudame a mirar” (Anaya PhotoClub) received the National Award of the Spanish Confederation of Photography as the best Photography book of 2020 and he has also received some of the most important awards in the world for his work as graphic reporter, after working for prestigious media like National Geographic, Time Magazine, El País Semanal, Viajar, El Magazine, Geo, Jano, Paris Match, La Repubblica, Der Spiegel, Smithsonian Magazine and Los Angeles Times among many others.

    Besides “Ayudame a mirar” he has published other books, the main ones being “El Futuro Existe” and “David contra Goliat”, both about cancer in children; “Latidos en un hospital” and “Conectados a la Vida” about topics related with medicine and “Los secretos de la Fotografía de Viajes”, “Fotografía con una sonrisa“, "CurArte" and "Los colores y tú" with PhotoClub Anaya.
